Do you know what it means to measure event ROI? It is not as difficult as you may think, but you need to know how. And here's the magic; to measure results, you need specific and measurable objectives, otherwise measurement is not possible. When you give those objectives to the event designers, the event gets better. It is like a self fulfilling prophecy; when you decide to measure, the results get better :-). If you know how to measure results, you also know how to design better events, two for the price of one :-).
